Multi-sensor micro-co-ordinate metrology

Automotive, medical and telecommunications industries, to name but a few, are increasing their reliance on microparts with complex geometries. An important development in the area of industrial dimensional metrology is “multi-sensor co-ordinate metrology”. The aim of this area is to combine the high accuracy and 3D capabilities of contacting micro-CMM measurements with the speed of optical measurements and, more recently, the ability of X-ray computed tomography (XCT) to measure the internal features of industrial micro-parts.
