Verification of Machine Tools: systems, approaches and some mathematical modelling
Prof. Yagüe-Fabra brings us a tutorial on the verification of machine tools, exploring the need to assure adequate and accurate performance of the large machines used to manufacture large parts for big sectors like aeronautics, where failures could be critical in terms of security. He will be showing us the mathematical modelling of the geometrical errors and machines in a practical way. This tutorial will address this and will show different systems used nowadays for the geometrical verification of machine tools by using different approaches depending on different factors (machine size, equipment needed, etc.)
Professor José A. Yagüe-Fabra is Dean of the School of Engineering and Architecture (EINA) and full professor in the Department of Design and Manufacturing Engineering in the University of Zaragoza (Spain). His research work is focused on dimensional metrology, precision engineering, quality control, manufacturing optimization and automatization, measurement science and technology. He is member of several societies, including Sigma Xi (The Scientific Research Honor Society), Manufacturing Engineering Society (SIF-MES), Aragón Institute of Engineering Research (I3A), the European Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology (euspen), and Fellow of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP).
