Dr Andrew Townsend  | Senior Lecturer at EPSRC Future Metrology Hub

A systematic approach to metrology for additive manufactured components for advanced industrial applications

Dr Andrew Townsend is a Research Fellow at the UK’s EPSRC Future Metrology Hub at The University of Huddersfield. His research interests include surface-texture extraction and defect analysis using X-ray computed tomography. Prior to this, he was a Quality Manager in the United States aerospace industry for 20 years, during which time he was responsible for fluid valves and actuators incorporated in systems on the International Space Station, Space Shuttle, Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo and Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor.
